A tour of where I live in Manali… You will see that downstairs mostly consists of one large room. One side is the living room (complete with no chairs, indian style) and the other side is the kitchen. The door on the back wall of the kitchen goes to the bathroom. Grant and Charlene have a small room to the left. The ladder in the living room area goes up to my attic-like loft. It’s about 10 feet long and not tall enough to stand up in (look at my coat hanging on the wall for scale). One end has windows across it. The bathroom doesn’t have a shower…you fill that bucket hanging on the wall up, sponge bath, and then squeegee it down the drain. Also, the toilet is right behind the picture, slightly out of the frame.

So that’s home for the next little bit. It’s a far cry from the Shotgun, but it’s much more “modern” than a lot places here.
