Back in October India celebrated a big Hindu festival called Dushera. We went down to the big gathering in Kullu one day. All the local villages have their own gods, and each village brings their god to the festival (many of them walk for days). It is interesting cultural thing to see, and on one hand it is sort of like a really big fair or flea market. But there is quite certainly a dark and heartbreaking spiritual aspect to it as well.
